Ahok: Developer Must Build Six Inner-City Toll Roads Simultaneously

Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama ensures six inner-city toll roads would be built simultaneously. This is because those are interrelated. Hence, the developers were asked to build all, instead of two roads. If not, the road network cannot be formed.

"I told you (developer) to construct six toll roads, instead of only two," said former regent of East Belitung, at City Hall, Wednesday (8/20).

Of the six inner-city toll roads, he uttered, only two out of them are beneficial. Considering they are a goods distribution access that is deemed beneficial, namely Semanan-Sunter and Sunter-Pulogebang. While the remaining four others are less favorable. Hence, developers plan to build two roads first.

If the project is gradual, he worries the four roads cannot be constructed. That is why he forced developers to build all roads within three years.

 

"Such two roads are important, because they are very beneficial for the investor. Then they know other four will be quiet, thus they won't build it," he told.

In addition, he continued, developer has promised to provide Transjakarta lanes. If there are only two routes, there will be no passenger, because it only connects Bantam-Tanjung Priok.

"If there are only two Transjakarta lanes, who will take the bus from Banten-Tanjung Priok? I want Transjakarta bus elaborated. Therefore, I ask developer to build all, six routes for Transjakarta bus and new alternative," he asserted.

Basuki will revoke the permit if the developer does not follow his directions.

Previously, the project was divided into 4 stages and planned to be completed in 2022. First stage, Semanan-Sunter corridor as wide as 20.23 kilometers with an investment of Rp 9.76 trillion and Sunter-Pulogebang corridor as wide as 9.44 kilometers Rp 7.37 trillion.

Second stage, Duri Pulo-Kampung Melayu as wide as 12.65 kilometers with an investment of Rp 5.96 trillion and Kemayoran-Kampung Melayu as wide as 9.60 kilometers Rp 6.95 trillion. Third stage includes Ulujami-Tanah Abang corridor as wide as 8.70 kilometers with an investment of Rp 4,25 trillion, and Pasar Minggu-Casablanca corridor as wide as 9.15 kilometers Rp  Rp 5,71 trillion.

Total length of six inner-city toll roads is 69.77 kilometers. If it was done, they would become one with the outer ring road belongs to PT Jakarta Tollroad Development, with different tariff.
